2023 was another great year for PlayStation with titles like Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy XVI both meeting expectations and strengthening the PS5 lineup even further and new hardware hitting shelves with the release of PSVR2 and the PlayStation 5 Slim consoles late in November of 2023. This console generation feels as though PlayStation continue to just go from strength to strength and right now they're very far ahead of Xbox who once again had a relatively mediocre year but do have some great-looking titles scheduled for 2024. It is important to note that this year PlayStation have pretty much confirmed we won't see any of their first-party games like your God of War, Spider-Man, and Last of Us type releases but there is still plenty of exclusives on the slate as you'll see in this list.

2024 when it comes to PlayStation right now is also looking to have some banger titles exclusive to the console (if there aren't too many delays) with titles like Helldivers 2 and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth already getting a tonne of love early in the year with more titles like Rise of the Ronin and Silent Hill 2 Remake coming later on. If you don't already own a PlayStation 5 console now is a great time to pick one up, the exclusive catalogue is getting more and more stacked as the years go on and now the Slim version of the PS5 is readily available with some solid deals floating around.

In this article, we're going to be looking forward to the biggest PlayStation exclusives of 2024 listed in chronological order (alphabetical if no release date yet) including timed pure exclusives and console exclusives that are also releasing on PC. If you want to check out a particular game just hit one of the links below.

Helldivers II

Helldivers 2 Screenshot PlayStation Exclusive

Metacritic Score: 82/100
Release Date
: February 8th 2024
Developer: Arrowhead Game Studios
Publisher: Square Enix
Genre: Third-person Shooter
Trailer: Helldivers 2 Trailer - YouTube

The first big PlayStation exclusive of 2024 is Helldivers II. A sequel coming 9 years after the original is seeing some massive changes as whilst the first Helldivers was a top-down shooter this is going to be an over-the-shoulder Third-person shooter. You and up to three friends as Helldivers must customise and create the best loadout to take on hordes of alien enemies as you play your part in the Galactic War.

Helldivers 2 is looking to be an extremely fun co-op squad-based shooter with tonnes of weapons to choose from, a great way for PlayStation to start 2024 when it drops on February 8th. Also, this one is coming out on PC the same day if that's where you would prefer to play.

Pacific Drive

Pacific Drive PlayStation Exclusive

Metacritic Score: 78/100
Release Date
: February 22nd 2024
Developer: Ironwood Studios
Publisher: Kepler Interactive
Genre: Survival, Racing, Adventure
Trailer: Pacific Drive Trailer - YouTube

Pacific Drive is a new take on the Survival genre where your main companion is your car. You must take your trusty station wagon on excursions as you scavenge for resources to create new equipment and customise your car into the ultimate survival machine.

Combing driving and survival is a unique concept that's not been done before and the setting of the Olympic Exclusion Zone looks drooped in mystery making it look like a great place to explore even if it is unforgiving. Excited to see more of Pacific Drive when it drops on PS5 and PC on February 22nd.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth PlayStation Exclusive

Metacritic Score: 93/100
Release Date
: 29th of February 2024
Developer: Square Enix
Publisher: Square Enix
Genre: Action, RPG
Trailer: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Trailer - YouTube

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the next chapter of the Final Fantasy VII remake and is coming exclusively to PS5 on February 29th 2024. In my opinion, this is probably the biggest PlayStation exclusive coming in 2024 (as it stands) with a tonne of hype behind it thanks to how brilliant the 1st chapter of the remake was. Continue the story of Cloud and his trusty companions as antagonist Sephiroth aims to tear them apart.

The combat systems introduced in the first part of the Final Fantasy VII remake will still be present but the system is being expanded with a system called Synergy attacks where two of your party will combine their efforts for a devastating attack. The world looks to be a lot larger and the game should be less linear compared to the first chapter of the FF 7 remakes. Furthermore, the narrative looks like it's going to deviate from the original as Square Enix looks to surprise die-hard fans of the original with unexpected twists and turns.

Rise of the Ronin

Rise of the Ronin PlayStation Exclusive

Release Date: 22nd of March 2024
Developer: Team Ninja
Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment

Trailer: Rise of the Ronin Trailer - YouTube

Team Ninja the developers behind the Nioh series and Wo Long Fallen Dynasty are back this year with their next game set in late 19th century Japan with Rise of the Ronin. With Team Ninja at the helm, you can expect a deep and rich combat system here with a range of close-quarter combat weaponry and at range with period-accurate firearms. Rise of the Ronin is a full PS5 exclusive and cannot be played anywhere else.

Concord

Concord, PlayStation Exclusive

Release Date: 2024 TBC
Developer: Firewalk Studios
Publisher
: Sony Interactive Entertainment
Genre: First-Person Shooter
Trailer: Concord Trailer - YouTube

Not a huge amount is known about Concord, the debut game from Firewalk Studios. All we know is that it's set in a vibrant Sci-Fi universe and it'll be a first-person PVP shooter. One thing worth noting is that Firewalk Studios is a team of ex-destiny developers so could be some inspiration there.

Excited to hear more about Concord as we progress through 2024, Concord will be released on both PS5 and PC.

Death Stranding 2

Death Stranding 2 Sam Porter Bridges, PlayStation Exclusive

Release Date: TBA
Developer: Kojima Productions
Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
Genre: Action, Adventure
Trailer: Death Stranding 2 Teaser Trailer - YouTube

The story of Sam Porter Bridges will be continuing with Death Stranding 2 which currently doesn't have a release date but here's hoping it could be in 2024. Little is known about the sequel at this point with Hideo Kojima only showing us a teaser trailer back in 2022. Death Stranding 2 will be exclusive to PS5 at release but may see a PC release later on. All we know right now is that Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux and Troy Baker will all be a part of the cast for the sequel.

Fairgames$

Fairgame$, PlayStation Exclusive

Release Date: TBC
Developer: Haven Interactive Studios
Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
Genre: Shooter
Trailer: Fairgames$ CGI Trailer - YouTube

Fairgames$ is a competitive heist game something akin to the Payday series but with a PVP spin where you and your fellow thieves must compete against others to get the most loot possible. Not much else is known about this title and we've not seen any actual gameplay yet just a CGI trailer that shows the general premise of the game. Releasing on PC and PS5, no set date.

Marathon

Marathon, PlayStation Exclusive

Release date: TBC
Developer: Bungie
Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
Genre: First-Person Shooter, Extraction Shooter
Trailer: Marathon Trailer - YouTube

Bungie is returning to its roots by rebooting the Marathon series but now as an extraction shooter. In their push to have more games as a service, Sony leaned on experts Bungie and they're coming out with Marathon. Extraction shooters like Hunt Showdown & Escape from Tarkov are very popular and it makes sense that Bungie would want to have a crack at the genre.

Marathon oozes style from its trailer and you can work solo or in a crew of three to survive against other plays in a hostile environment. If other extraction shooters are anything to go off I'd imagine you need to grab gear/loot and simply try to get out with as much as possible. We're yet to see any gameplay of Marathon and Bungie doesn't seem quite ready to share more yet but we'll be here when they are. A release date has also not been shared as of yet but the game will be on both PS5 and PC and feature full cross-play at release.

Phantom Blade Zero

Phantom Blade Zero, PlayStation Exclusive

Release Date: TBA
Developer:  S-Game
Publisher:  S-Game
Genre:  Action, RPG
Trailer: Phantom Blade Zero Announce Trailer - YouTube

Phantom Blade Zero is a fast combat Action RPG from Chinese Developer S-Game who also made Rainblood; a franchise that never made it over to the West but was extremely popular in China. Phantom Blade Zero is the game they've always wanted to make and is taking advantage of Unreal Engine 5 moving on from their humble beginnings on RPG Maker. You can read more about this on the PlayStation blog with a great article from the CEO of S-Game.

In Phantom Blood Zero you'll play as Soul an elite assassin who serves an organisation known as "The Order", however, you have been framed for the murder of the org's leader and are now being hunted down. You must discover who framed you and why. The combat in this title looks insanely fast from the trailers, with incredibly smooth traversal as you slice through enemies. If this game can live up to what they've shown in trailers this could be an exceptional title. We have no set release date yet but the game will be released on PS5 and PC.

Silent Hill 2 Remake

Silent Hill 2 Remake Pyramid Head, PlayStation Exclusive

Release Date: TBA
Developer:  Blooper Team
Publisher:  Konami
Genre:  Survival Horror
Trailer: Silent Hill 2 Remake Trailer - YouTube

Silent Hill 2 is an absolute classic when it comes to survival horror and the remake is currently in development. By using Unreal Engine 5 developer Blooper Team wants to bring the horror and despair invoked by the original into the current generation releasing on both PS5 and PC. At this point, we've only seen the cinematic trailer and we can't wait to see more of the gameplay and potentially what changes Blooper Team could be looking to make. Hoping they can do the classic justice here as we join back up with James Sunderland. No sign of a release date yet.

Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade Eve with giant rifle screenshot, PlayStation Exclusive

Release date: 2024 TBC
Developer: SHIFT UP Corporation
Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
Genre: Action, Adventure
Trailer: Stellar Blade Trailer - YouTube

Stellar Blade is a fast-paced third-person RPG which is dripping with style. We're getting some souls-like vibes here regarding the combat and boss design but with a more sci-fi and mechanical feel. The protagonist of this new IP is Eve an incredibly capable fighter who must help rebuild one of the last bastions of Planet Earth a city named Xion as it is ravaged by creatures known as the NA:tives.

This is an incredibly flashy title with its graphics and combat being its major selling points, we're very interested to see more of this game and how it turns out, right now from the trailers there's most certainly some intrigue.

So there you have our list of some of the much-anticipated games releasing exclusively on PlayStation in 2024 and beyond. We're sure more games will be released this year and more concrete release date information is available. It's interesting to see that all of the titles on this list now are just PS5 exclusives and the PS4 is now being left behind, have you upgraded to the PS5 yet? If so did you think it was worth it? Let us know below what you're looking forward to playing this year on PlayStation and if there are any titles you think we should add to this list.
