Learn more about the Nintendo Switch OLED model
The Nintendo Switch OLED launched on October 8th, 2021, followed by Switch exclusive Metroid Dread, which made a great pairing. The Nintendo Switch OLED model offers players an even better way to experience Nintendo games thanks to a larger, better-quality screen. The 7-inch OLED will render both recent and upcoming Nintendo Switch games more beautifully than ever, presenting graphics using a vivid level of colour that isn’t possible on other Switch console models.
One of the main reasons to pick up a Nintendo Switch OLED this year is the incredible catalogue of games which was only strengthened last year with the incredible The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This year the Switch shows no signs of stopping with exclusives like Princess Peach Showtime & Mario Vs. Donkey Kong being just around the corner, we have an article on all the Nintendo Switch exclusives coming in 2024 if you're curious. With a great back catalogue of exclusives, third-party gems and upcoming releases there's plenty to enjoy if you decide to purchase a Nintendo Switch OLED.
The overall size of the Nintendo Switch OLED model isn’t bigger or smaller than the standard Switch, but the screen can achieve 7 inches of space thanks to the much slimmer bezel. High-contrast levels and improved colour variation ensure that people who play Nintendo Switch on the go now receive a premium experience, akin to what you’d typically see when playing games on an OLED TV. At launch, the Nintendo Switch OLED model was available in two colour SKUs: Neon and White. It has also had four different special editions over the years to celebrate the release of titles like Tears of the Kingdom and Pokémon Scarlet.
