The latest instance of this happened yesterday when a new video surfaced online seemingly showing Gears of War 3 being played on a PS3. Yup, you read that correctly!
How is this possible? After all, Gears of War is and always has been synonymous with the Xbox brand. Well, an Epic spokesperson has since come out to say that it was just, in fact, a test. Here’s what the Epic Games representative officially told Kotaku: “This footage is a by-product of Epic's internal Unreal Engine 3 testing process, which utilised both Gears and Unreal Tournament and was never part of any actual product work for PlayStation 3." As you can see, Gears of War was in now way destined to hit Sony’s platform.
