Tokyo has been infested with violent supernatural beings who are trying to wipe out the human population. Playing as protagonist Akito it's your job as one of the last surviving humans of the city to rid it of this plight as you attempt to overthrow the mysterious masked man Hannya that appears to be causing the invasion. You'll be teaming up with an unlikely ally with a spectral detective named KK whose goals align with yours in the pursuit of Hannya.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is developer Tango Gamework's first game since the Evil Within series and it's sure to be a very interesting and dark world if their previous works are anything to go by. Be sure to check out our comparison above for the cheapest Ghostwire: Tokyo deals.

A most beautiful and haunting reimagining of Tokyo

Whilst the idea of Tokyo being plagued by Yokai and twisted spirits may be scary this offers a new rendition of Tokyo that is most exciting. The city in GhostWire: Tokyo will be true to real-life in some regards with its modern cityscape on display. It has also been revealed to have real-life landmarks such as Shibuya Crossing and Tokyo Tower all rendered in fantastic detail, taking advantage of the next-gen PS5 power and high-end gaming PCs. Oh and by the way, yes you can pet the dog.

Decimate otherworldy foes with elemental-infused abilities

Combat director Shinichiro Hara has described the combat in GhostWire: Tokyo as "karate meets magic" which is a most enticing vision. Protagonist Akito has access to many upgradeable elemental powers and can cast magic via Kuji-kiri inspired hand gestures in order to diminish enemies' health which opens them up for a devastating finishing attack.
