Xbox Game Pass subscribers receive Resident Evil VII, Spiritfarer and more soon

Xbox Game Pass continues to be the gift that keeps on giving, being a great way for players to try out the platform’s various first-party exclusives as well as unique indie titles they mightn’t purchase otherwise. Microsoft has recently revealed the next wave of games set to arrive soon – and it looks to be one of the most diverse line-ups yet. From Resident Evil VII to the recently launched Spiritfarer, there’s something for everyone.

Spiritfarer is a cosy management sim that already made its way to the service yesterday, but a flurry of additions has recently been announced by Microsoft. Arguably the most notable is Battletoads, an Xbox One exclusive, on August 20th (Thursday). This will be joined by throwback RPG Crossing Souls and Darksiders: Genesis on PC and Don’t Starve: Giant Edition for both console and PC. New Super Lucky’s Tale follows them the very next day on August 21st (Friday).

The final bout of August’s new Xbox Game Pass games arrive a week later on August 27th and include Hypnospace Outlaw and Tell Me Why: Chapter 1. Then the day after on August 28th subscribers can sink their teeth into Double Kick Heroes and Wasteland 3.

Here is a full list of the Xbox Game Pass titles coming in August:

  • Spiritfarer (August 18th)
  • Battletoads (August 20th)
  • Crossing Souls (August 20th)
  • Darksiders Genesis (August 20th)
  • Don’t Starve: Giant Edition (August 20th)
  • New Super Lucky’s Tale (August 21st)
  • Hypnospace Outlaw (August 27th)
  • Tell Me Why: Chapter 1 (August 27th)
  • Double Kick Heroes (August 28th)
  • Wasteland 3 (August 28th)

Microsoft also outlined a couple of games expected to come early September, too. These two titles will be Crusader Kings III on September 1st and Resident Evil 7 Biohazard on September 3rd.

Of course, so many new games arriving to the service does mean that there will be some games exiting Xbox Game Pass. The big loss will be Red Dead Redemption 2 on September 7th, but we’ll pop the full list below:

  • Creature in the Well (August 31st)
  • Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams (August 31st)
  • Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 (August 31st)
  • Metro: Last Light Redux (August 31st)
  • The Jackbox Party Pack 3 (August 31st)
  • NBA 2K20 (September 1st)
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 (September 7th)
