Update:

It would seem that the highly rumoured Ratchet & Clank PS5 hardware bundle is now been confirmed to exist (as if there was any doubt before). What's the giveaway this time? Well, as spotted by French news site' StationofPlay's Twitter account, retail worked have photographed shipments of the box and uploaded them online. See below:

We're expecting Sony to imminently announce the PS5 console bundle now that the cat is pretty much out of the bag. This would mean that it's on track to release the same day as Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, which is tomorrow. How many will be available here in the UK and which online retailers will be offering stock? Nobody knows. We'll be sure to keep a close eye and update you.

Original story:

Since both the Standard and Digital PlayStation 5 SKUs launched back in November, Sony’s next-gen console has only been purchasable as a standalone product. Online retailers may often pair it with a PS5 game separately to help sweeten the deal, sure, but we’re yet to see what a first-party PS5 bundle from Sony itself could look like… until now.

As first spotted by website VGChartz, the newly upcoming Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart maybe the first PS5 exclusive game to be the subject of a PS5 console bundle. This speculation comes after a tweet was posted by French news outlet Station of Play, who seemingly revealed that the bundle exists and will consist of the game, a standard PS5 console unit, as well as a single DualSense controller. The tweet also indicates that the bundle will launch simultaneously alongside Rift Apart as soon as this Friday.

Here’s the Tweet showing the incredibly convincing PS5 console bundle packaging:

As already stated, if true, this Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart PS5 console bundle will be the first of its kind, as other recent PS5 exclusives like Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Returnal didn’t get the treatment. This is likely because Insomniac’s mascot platformer has a much wider appeal than either of those games, making it the perfect candidate to sell even more PS5s (when they’re in stock). No UK price is known, but in France it’s expected to retail for €569.99.

Do you plan on picking up the Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart PS5 console bundle up this Friday? We’ll be sure to let you know when it comes in stock. Until then, you can get the best price on the standalone game below:
