Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 2 release date announced

There’s no stopping these carts! 

Following March's release of the first wave of courses from Mario Kart 8’s Booster Pass, wave 2 has been announced.

From the 4th August, owners of the Booster Pass DLC will receive eight more courses for this fast and frantic game. Introducing the Turnip Cup and Propeller Cup each with 4 courses that have been taken and updated from other Mario Kart games, as well as one from the often-forgotten Mario Kart Tour.

These 8 new tracks add to the 48 promised tracks that will be released in six waves leading up to the end of 2023. 

What tracks are included in Mario Kart 8 Booster Course Pass Wave 2?

As previously mentioned, the tracks are split into two cups, and they are as follows.

Turnip Cup:

• Tour New York Minute – Inspired by the Big Apple, this map from Mario Kart Tour allows you to tear past huge buildings as you race to the finish line.
• SNES Mario Circuit 3 – This classic course is a blast from the past for older Mario Kart fans. Watch out for the Warp Pipe as you navigate this Super NES track.
• N64 Kalimari Desert – This prickly track is back. Racing across the desert in this Nintendo 64 course, you have to make sure not to crash into the train that is just minding its business as it goes about the track.
• DS Waluigi Pinball – Thrown from Mario Kart DS, in Waluigi Pinball, you race across a giant pinball table that wants you to be the ball! Hazards are numerous and racing is difficult. Anybody who has experienced this track definitely remembers it.

Propeller Cup:

• Tour Sydney Sprint – This next Mario Kart Tour track sees you slide around sun soaked Sydney. Beautiful and blissful, this track is a treasured destination that you won't want to miss.
• GBA Snow Land – You can never have too many tracks from GBA’s Super Circuit, and this winter wonderland makes for a slippery race. Stay cool and you might just win.
• Wii Mushroom Gorge – Bouncing mushrooms make for great shortcuts and winding caverns make it easy to get turned around. Wii’s Mushroom Gorge is a good time all round.
• Sky-High Sundae – A completely new course just in time for the summer! Race in and around desserts that make sure that you’re full at every turn. Make sure you’ve got space for ice cream as you race the competition over the finish line.

How to get the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass:

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass is available on the Nintendo eShop for around £23. This gives you access to all 6 waves of the 48 new Mario Kart 8 tracks. 

If you are a member of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service, you’ll get access to the Booster Course Pass for no additional charge.
