An in-universe spin-off to 2017’s Wolfenstein: The New Colossus, Youngblood continues the story laid out by developer MachineGames by casting you and a friend as the twin daughters of BJ Blazkowicz in search of their missing father. This means running and gunning your way through a Nazi-occupied Paris in an alternate 1980s. Expect the rebooted Wolfenstein’s same affinity for high-octane action and gruesome kills in Wolfenstein: Youngblood as you play through the non-linear campaign either with an online friend or AI companion.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is set to be a more open-ended experience than what we got with 2015’s The New Order and its sequel: The New Colossus. This is evidenced in how players can choose in which order to complete missions, all set against a weirdly vibrant militant backdrop that comes from the 1980s setting. Strategy proves just as important as brawn; plan how you intend to dismantle the Nazi regime.

Liberate alternate-history Paris from Nazis as the twin daughters of BJ Blazkowicz

Whereas Wolfenstein has until now only seen you step into the role of all-American badass BJ Blazkowicz, Wolfenstein: Youngblood passes the torch to a new generation of freedom fighters. Taking place two decades after the events of the previous game, Jess and Soph Blazkowicz find themselves on a mission to save their lost father. The question is: does the withered war veteran even want to be saved?

The first modern co-op Wolfenstein adventure

Wolfenstein: Youngblood marks the very first time the series has featured co-operative play. The single-player campaign is fully playable alone with an AI partner, but there’s no denying that the experience has been specifically designed by MachineGames to be played with a friend. One plays as Jess, the other plays as Soph; together you can enact strategies and take down the Nazi elite accordingly.

A swathe of creative weaponry to unleash havoc

Youngblood promises the same mix of jaw-dropping graphics, highly inventive and immersive storytelling and, of course, brutal gun-toting gameplay. That last part is reinforced by the inclusion of several new alternate-history weapons that range from gatling laser beams, giants mechs, as well as good old-fashioned WWII weaponry.
