Soon after the arrival of suspicious cargo, however, Jacob attempts to break out and defend himself against a terrifying alien force that has started to infect the local population, transforming them into all kinds of disfigured horror. Is it a complete accident or a plan constructed by the shady United Jupiter organization? Finding out means navigating the rapidly deteriorating prison of Black Iron and choosing your friends carefully.
The Callisto Protocol places explicit focus on tense, up-close combat designed to test your nerves. Jacob himself can equip a range of blunt objects and instruments, all of which can do serious damage to the various night terrors. There’s a gun system, too, and much like Dead Space before it the most effective ways to incapacitate mutant enemies in The Callisto Protocol is to dismember them piece by piece.
