Devil May Cry 5 marks the first canonical entry into Capcom’s beloved over-the-top action series for over ten years, placing players back in the shoes of Nero and Dante along with new protagonist V. All three characters have a respective score to settle in the battle between heaven and hell, each offering their own specific gameplay style that makes for the perfect foundation in which Devil May Cry can deliver its signature blend of stylish combat and high-octane thrills once again.

The story of Devil May Cry 5 picks up five years after the events of the previous game, with Nero and Dante continuing their chase for the monsters plaguing Earth. This all changes when an entirely new demonic threat is unleashed, forcing our heroes to step up their game and face their demons. Doing so involves engaging in epic clashes with various end-level bosses, upgrading weapons like Dante’s legendary guns (Ebony and Ivory), as well as chaining as many cinematic combos as possible in order to achieve that highly coveted S-rank rating. Everything you do in Devil May Cry is in service of style – and if it looks good it’ll rank well, too.

Devil May Cry 5 is out now for Xbox One S, Xbox One X, PS4 and PS4 Pro, in addition to PC. The game was developed using Capcom’s in-house RE Engine, which made its debut back in 2017 with the release of Resident Evil 7. This tech is what allows Devil May Cry 5 to achieve a height of graphical fidelity that has been applauded for how photoreal characters and locations can look. All of this adds to Devil May Cry’s vibrant brand of action, made all the more enjoyable with 4K visuals and HDR.

The standard edition of Devil May Cry 5 is available from multiple retailers.

The steelbook edition comes with the game, as well as the following benefits when purchased from select retailers:

Four devil breakers with unique abilities

12 classic battle themes

Behind-the-scenes pre-viz live action cutscenes

Alternate colour scheme for Dante’s motorcycle

Alternate style rank and title call announcers

100,000 red orbs

Exclusive steelbook packaging
