There are some huge game releases coming this October!

So we are finally hitting that time of year when the big releases come rolling in. Last month we had some bangers like Arkane's Deathloop for the PS5 and Warioware on the Nintendo Switch. However, October has its own set of heavy hitters that I think warrant some excitement. Regardless of whether your main platform is Nintendo Switch, Playstation or Xbox I can assure you there's going to be something worthwhile picking up this month. For example this October we will finally be seeing the release of EA's new edition of FIFA which will be taking advantage of those next-gen technologies provided by the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Meanwhile on the Nintendo Switch we're getting back to playing as Samus with Metroid Dread.

This blog will be showing all the things to look forward to this October when it comes to the world of gaming, highlighting every big release on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch. We will also provide the best available price for each platform to save you both money and time!

FIFA 22 (October 1st)

Every year EA bring out the latest and greatest in Football simulation. Arguably one of the biggest releases of the year for sports fans around the world, FIFA 22 is set to release on October 1st for all major platforms. This game boasts new improvements to all game modes such as Ultimate Team and career mode and also a plethora of gameplay features. This includes the new Hypermotion on the next-gen PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles which is being boasted to bring FIFA 22 even closer to the real-life game of football.

Far Cry 6 (October 7th)

Since Far Cry 3 Ubisoft have been able to rely heavily on the franchise as one of their biggest IPs when it comes to the open-world genre they do so thrive in. The newest in the series, Far Cry 6 will take place in a fictional island nation known as Yara which is run by a ruthless oppressive government headed up by Anton Castillo, who is being played by Giancarlo Esposito. Probably best known for his incredible performance as Gus from Breaking Bad. Releasing on October 7th be ready for first-person shooter action and guerilla tactics of Far Cry 6 on PS4, PS5, Xbox, and PC. Oh and one more thing, you can have a pet dog named Chorizo or if that's not up your street, why not a crocodile named Guapo!

From the creators of Left 4 Dead, October also sees a new co-op first-person shooter horde zombie game called Back 4 Blood. Back 4 Blood harnesses a competitive PVP mode also allowing for you and your friends to jump in as both humans and zombies and battle it out. Furthermore, there is also this new card system providing roguelike elements enhancing the game's replayability, via increasing difficulty and providing a variety of active builds for players to use. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy (October 26th)

Square Enix is having another go at creating a Marvel game follow the release of Marvel's Avengers last year, this time using the much-beloved Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, clearly lending some of the personality from the MCU versions. This space-adventure will be a single-player experience, where the player will pilot Star-Lord and his crew through what I imagine to be hijinks filled with excitement and humour and hopefully a banging soundtrack whilst you do it. Grab it on October 26th for PS4, PS5, Xbox and PC.
